The trend of using electronic money has become fairly common and tends to increase from time to time these days. Evidently, in the period from January to June 2022, LinkAja's good performance did not only occur specifically in the DKI Jakarta province. Similar growth patterns were also experienced by a number of other provinces which also implied an increased interest in using LinkAja as a means of digital payment to fulfill daily needs. When compared between the first semester of 2022 and the previous year, the regions of Sumatra, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, and Papua also contribute to the growth in LinkAja usage.
Three important variables that become the benchmark are user activeness, quantity, and transaction value in using LinkAja as a digital payment tool. Measured by the number of transactions, North and Southeast Sulawesi are just below DKI Jakarta province, with a significant percentage increase of 120% and 94% from the same period in 2021.
Telkomsel's credit purchase partner, DigiPOS, is recorded as the platform that generates the largest transactions among LinkAja users based on data pulled from a number of Indonesian regions. Followed by purchases at food service retailers and transportation such as Commuterline, especially in the Jabodetabek agglomeration area and on-call transportation such as Grab and Gojek in the Sulawesi region.
Yogi Rizkian Bahar, President Director of LinkAja stated, "LinkAja was founded on a foundation of synergy and collaboration which is the basis for the company's optimism to be able to have a positive impact on the progress of the domestic economy. The positive growth in terms of user activity, transaction routines, and also the amount of transaction value on the LinkAja platform in a number of regions makes us believe that there is still a lot of potential that we need to further explore and unite for the advancement of the nation's economy."
A number of provinces that show good activity in utilizing the LinkAja application include the provinces of East Nusa Tenggara, Yogyakarta, and West Papua, which are the most active LinkAja users compared to other regions. Along with Jakarta, two provinces in the Sumatra region, namely West Sumatra and Bangka Belitung, recorded growth of 4% and 3% respectively based on the value of rupiah transacted during the first semester of 2022.
Providing digital payment services since 2019, LinkAja has been a catalyst for democratization and financial inclusion for all Indonesians. As many as 76.8% of Indonesia's total population has adopted internet services by April 2022 based on We Are Social data. With the formation of digital literacy, digital-based financial literacy efforts continue to be boosted by LinkAja and LinkAja Syariah. To date, there are more than 83 million registered users on the LinkAja platform and a number of provinces outside the capital have shown positive growth that emphasizes the progress of the domestic economy.
Through a complete and integrated ecosystem of electronic financial transaction services, LinkAja's consistency and commitment in its efforts towards #SatukanPotentialIndonesia is increasingly being realized. By optimizing all the services offered by each SOE, LinkAja is optimistic that it can meet the needs of safe and convenient digital transactions, and further accelerate the process of equitable financial inclusion in Indonesia.
